A software selection tip for the week

If you're searching for a new software solution, never assume that functionality exists in a product, even if you’re reviewing an industry-specific solution or a solution used by a competitor. What is important to you might be a low priority for someone else. 

If it’s important then ask to see it. If you haven’t seen it then assume it’s not there until you know otherwise. The functionality may well exist but it's best not to leave it to chance.
